Community Projects
DICM/ The Diamonds Centre have several projects to reach the community in areas where others are forgotten:
DSI [‘Diamond Support Initiative’] support group for those in the community who have loved ones in prisons. You will receive support, advice and assistance through this difficult time. A consultancy where we offer support to anyone who has family members or friends:
• On Remand
• Sentenced to Imprisonment
• Gone through the criminal justice system
• Needing legal advice and support
ASG [Autistic Support Group ] for parents or carers
A FREE support service to meet the needs of Parent/Carers in the community who care or support those on the Autistic Spectrum. We recognise the need for support services and the impact it has on their families. We can offer parents the opportunity to talk through challenges and feelings, suggest helpful strategies and provide a non-judgemental environment.
CAP- Christians Against Poverty
A FREE Money management course focusing on debt awareness and becoming debt free As registered CAP coaches who can offer this service to meet the needs of those people in the community who need some support and provides a opportunity to connect with others. We run free CAP workshops and offer separate sessions specifically tailored for the children. It is solely to provide tools that will assist with the approach to managing money in daily life. The sessions can provide opportunity to look at different ways to work through finances and looking at suggest approaches in managing money offering helpful strategies and in a non-judgemental environment. If any individuals are experiencing debt that needs further assistance they can be referred to a CAP coach one to one who will work with them one to one free of charge. How CAP can help. Building a balanced budget with the CAP Money system will give a practical way of sticking to your budget.
VWC – Vulnerable Women and Children Group Specifically targeted for vulnerable women with young children with non perishable and personal hygiene items. (dry non perishable foods, baby milk, nappies baby food sanitary towels, underway, items geared towards women and children. The mothers of children are facing hardship.
Knowledge sharing to help and assist with building the women up empowering them with tools for their families and creating an environment where they would have been otherwise isolated due to personal circumstances.
TIA – The Inner Attitude drama project. Tia is run by a church member, Tanya the Director and Founder of Tia. A project that aids girls and women to recognise that their real beauty comes from within and is revealed through their character.
• The main focus of the project is to guide girls and women to truly focus on: emotional wholeness, embracing identity and fulfilling goals and exploring purposes.
• It provides an opportunity for girls and women to experience personal development through the creative arts.
• It engages girls and women in self-awareness.
• The development of individuality and provides an arena for girls and women to explore their talents and gifts leading them to discover their own potential.
• Tia enhances quality of life while contributing to the realisation of their own dreams and aspirations with rehearsals
• Referrals to counsellors or any other professionals if required.
